July 2, 2025 - Professor Emeritus Datuk Ts. Ir. Dr Siti Hamisah binti Tapsir, FASc., President of MBOT, received a courtesy call from the delegation of the Taskforce for the Establishment of the Malaysia E-Learning Centre (MyCeL) 2.0, Department of Higher Education.

The purpose of this courtesy call was to obtain feedback and recommendations from MBOT, particularly regarding governance structure and implementation aspects that could serve as a reference in developing the proposed model for the establishment of the national e-learning centre by the appointed committee. In addition, the session aimed to assess whether the current proposed structure could be further improved, as well as to identify how MBOT establishment structure might serve as an exemplary model for the creation of MyCeL.

The main goal of establishing MyCeL 2.0 is to help position Malaysia as a leader in e-learning research, development and implementation in Asia. MyCeL will also act as a centre to plan, coordinate and monitor e-learning initiatives carried out by each Higher Education Institution.
